World Ploughing Organization
November 2004
The WPO has now published the Ploughing Rules for 2005. Adjustments have been
made in:
General
- Penalties for infringements given by Head Stewards will be from 1 to 20
points for each infringement. The maximum was 5 points
- The break between split/opening and the ploughing of the plot will be 60
minutes. This time was 75 minutes
- Straightness is judged four times. Points are added and divided by two.
The maximum score for straightness now is 20 points, this was 10 points.
Reversible ploughing
- The connecting furrow at the butts can be ploughed with one or two
furrows visible. All plough bodies must be in working position.
- The butts is enlarged. The butts now consist of 19 or 20 furrows for two
furrow ploughs and 20 or 21 furrows for three furrow ploughs.
- The sketch for the plot plan of the reversible has changed. All
competitors will now plough the same angle compared to the headland.
